HOW LONG IS MY LIFE

HOW LONG IS MY LIFE

HOW LONG IS MY LIFE

HOW LONG IS MY LIFE

HOW LONG IS MY LIFE

HOW LONG IS MY LIFE

How Long Is My Life takes us to the final round, where the question comes straight from the Psalms: "Lord, tell me how long is my life?" Life feels long in the noise of routine, yet Scripture calls it a breath, a vapor, a shadow that quickly passes.

Welcome to the final round. Where the question is straight from the Psalms. Lord, tell me, how long is my life? Is it seconds or seasons, a breath or a flame? Is it years full of noise or one whispered name? Is it sunrise to sunset or night into dawn? Is it dust in the wind or forever held on? Is it short like a sigh when the moment is gone, or long like Your mercy that keeps carrying on?

The spotlight presses closer, and the seconds start to fall. I hear my heartbeat counting like it is racing through a wall. I ask the ancient question David whispered in the night: "How long is my whole lifetime, just a breath before Your sight?"

Teach me my days. Teach me to see how short life is, how close You are to me. Teach me to count what truly remains. You number my breaths, and You carry my days.

The clock keeps softly ticking, and the minutes feel like sand, slipping through my fingers faster than I understand. I ask for clearer vision like the psalmist long ago. Lord, remind me life is fleeting, and there is so much I do not know.

If my life is just a moment held inside Your hands, then I do not need all the answers, just to understand that every breath is borrowed, every step is grace. I do not measure time in numbers when I am held in Your embrace.

Teach me my days. Teach me to see how short life is, how close you are to me. Teach me to count what truly remains. You number my breaths, and You carry my days.

Inspired By: David's prayer in Psalm 39, asking God to reveal how brief life truly is—not to create fear, but to give wisdom. Like the final round of a game show, life eventually brings us to the one question that matters: How will we use the time God has given us? When we understand that our days are numbered, we stop trying to control tomorrow and begin trusting the One who already holds every breath, every moment, and every day in His hands. Life is a vapor, but God's love and faithfulness endure forever.

Father, as I pray this, teach me to number my days so that I may gain a heart of wisdom. Too often I live as though tomorrow is guaranteed, spending my time chasing things that will not last while overlooking the eternal treasures You have placed before me. Open my eyes to see that every breath I take is a gift from You and every moment is an opportunity to know You more.

Your Word says, "Lord, make me know my end and the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is." (Psalm 39:4). Your Word also says, "Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." (Psalm 90:12). Help me live with that wisdom today.

When life becomes busy and the days seem endless, remind me that my time on earth is brief. Keep me from wasting the moments You have entrusted to me on worry, pride, or things that will fade away. Instead, help me invest my life in loving You, loving others, and faithfully following wherever You lead.

Lord, I surrender my plans, my schedule, my dreams, and even my future into Your hands. I do not need to know how many days I have left because You have already numbered every one of them. My life has never been outside of Your care, and my future has never been outside of Your control.

Thank You that even though my life is like a breath, Your love endures forever. Thank You that while my days are temporary, Your promises are eternal. Help me live each day with eternity in view, trusting that every step, every breath, and every moment is safely held in Your hands.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

FINAL ROUND

The lights grew quiet. The scoreboard dimmed. The countdown faded, but one question remained. Not about winning or losing, only this: Lord, how long is my life?

I counted birthdays. You counted purpose. I measured seasons. You measured mercy. I chased tomorrow. You gave me today. Every breath I ever borrowed was already held in Your hands.

I searched for answers hidden in time. You taught me wisdom hidden in trust. My life was never measured by years, but by the God who numbered every one of my days before they began.

So I laid down the buzzer and stopped chasing the clock. The final answer was never a number. It was knowing that before my first breath, You had already counted them all, and Your mercy would carry me beyond the last.
