Oh when the sinner becomes a saint,
when mercy washes every stain.
The drums of grace begin to play—
Christ in me, the hope of glory.
My heartbeat bolted like a wild stampede, fear in my lungs, faith picking up speed.
Thought I could hide where the shadows spun—but He tracked every beat of a heart on the run.
Heat hit quick when He called my name, truth burned brighter than a runaway flame.
Didn’t stand a chance when the chase begun—He caught every mile of a heart on the run.
He moves steady, I break fast—but His wild love always catches last.
Heart on the run—but Love runs faster. Didn’t just find me—He chased my disaster.
Pulled me close through every fracture—grace don’t walk, it runs right after.
Heart on the run—but the Shepherd won. One look back—I remember:
He left the ninety-nine for this one.
Dust rose high when He reached my trail, mercy rolled in like a desert gale.
Left the ninety-nine safe in the sun—just to chase the steps of a heart on the run.
Moon leaned low when His shadow grew, His voice kept ringing inside my chest.
Walls fell quick when He broke right through—one quiet call and the chase confessed.
He breathes calm through my unrest—I fall wild into His chest.
Heart on the run—but Love runs faster. Didn’t just find me—He chased my disaster.
Pulled me close through every fracture—grace don’t walk, it runs right after.
Heart on the run—but the Shepherd won. One look back—I remember:
He left the ninety-nine for this one.
I ran till I couldn’t recognize the sound of my own name.
Fear had me calling shadows home, thinking love was all the same.
Then He said it—and it split the night: “You don’t have to run. I already won this fight.”
And something in me finally stayed—not because I was caught… but because I was safe.
Oh when the heart on the run turns around, when mercy outruns every mile I’ve found,
the drums of grace begin to sound—
I was the one He ran for.
Heart on the run—but Truth ran faster. Turned my fear into forever after.
Held me close—no more disaster—Love don’t chase to capture, it chases to gather.
Heart on the run—but now I stay. One look back—I remember:
He left the ninety-nine for this one.
Turns out… I wasn’t escaping.
I was only running toward the love that was already chasing me.
The Pursuit of the One
Gospel of Luke 15:4–7
“What man of you… does not leave the ninety-nine and go after the one that is lost until he finds it?”
And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing…
“There will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents…”
Lord Jesus, as I pray this, I remember—when I was running,
You did not turn away from me.
When fear filled my heart and I tried to hide,
Your love ran faster and found me.
Your Word says,
“What man of you… does not leave the ninety-nine and go after the one that is lost until he finds it?”
Luke 15:4
“He restores my soul; He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”
Psalm 23:3
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”
John 10:27
So even now, as I stand before You,
Oh when the heart on the run turns around,
when mercy outruns every mile I’ve found,
the drums of grace begin to sound—
I was the one You ran for.
Because of You, I am not lost.
I am found, I am held, and I am Yours.
I lay down every place I’ve been running.
I release fear, striving, and hiding,
and I receive Your peace, Your covering, and Your rest.
You did not chase me to condemn me—
You came to bring me home.
So I am no longer running.
I am safe in Your presence.
I am the one You ran for.
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, the power,
and the glory forever. Amen.

Heaven celebrates when I am found by God.

I ran through noise,
through dust,
through the weight of my own breath—
thinking distance could quiet
what chased me.
But here—
in a field I didn’t plan,
under a sky that wasn’t asking anything of me—
everything slowed.
The ground didn’t judge my steps.
The wind didn’t question my past.
Even the silence
felt like it knew my name.
No fences.
No voices.
No rush left in my chest.
Just a quiet walk
through something soft and alive—
like grace growing wild
where I thought I’d only find escape.
Turns out…
I wasn’t being hunted.
I was being led.
And the One I ran from
was the only One
who knew exactly
where I’d stop.
