I'm a Cannonball in His Hands reminds us that God is more interested in preparing us than promoting us. We often want the launch before the lesson, the spotlight before the surrender, and the victory before the refining. But every season of waiting has a purpose.
Steel mouth wide. Smoke curling slow. Fuse burning low. Everybody wanna fly. Few sit down to know. Boom. Click. Fire.
Molds set cold behind the door. Crowds already scream for more. Drums roll loud. They want the spark. Disappear when it gets dark. Loaded fast without a prayer. Didn't check the seal was there. Out of round. The barrel knows. I ain't released till I'm His to throw. Check your base. Is your faith built to last? Everybody wanna fly. Few sit down to know. Boom. Click. Fire. Faith in the wire. I'm a cannonball in His hands! I'm a cannonball in His hands!
Mockers sit in the front row. Laugh when the fuse burns slow. "Look at him. Started strong. Couldn't take it. Moved on." But I learned to sit and pray. Count the cost day by day. Bore-fit true. No wasted flame. Now He aims me by His name. Count it slow. Check your base. Is your faith built to last? Everybody wanna fly. Few sit down to know. Boom. Click. Fire. Faith in the wire. I'm a cannonball in His hands! I'm a cannonball in His hands!
Aimed and ready for flight. Set in place. Sealed tight. I don't move unless He plans. I'm held steady in His hands. Passive power in the dark. Weight that waits before the spark. Loaded with the Word. Held true. Truth don't shift till He ignites. Count it slow. Check your base. Is your faith built to last? Everybody wanna fly. Few sit down to know. Boom. Click. Fire. Faith in the wire. I'm a cannonball in His hands! I'm a cannonball in His hands!

They wink in the shadows, smile too wide. Tightrope shaking where I tried to hide. Reaching for my darling, calling my name, but the Lion of Judah stepped into flame. Behold, the Lion of Judah has prevailed. He saves His darling… His darling He saved.

A circus cannonball captures the crowd's attention for only a few seconds, but countless hours of preparation happen before the launch. The cannon must be inspected, the barrel cleaned, the aim carefully set, and every detail checked before anyone is fired through the air. In the same way, God often does His greatest work in the hidden seasons. Before He calls us into a greater purpose, He shapes our character, strengthens our faith, and teaches us to trust His timing.
I'm a Cannonball in His Hands is a reminder that God's delays are not His denials. He knows exactly when we are ready to be released into the plans He has prepared for us. Rather than rushing ahead in our own strength, we are called to remain in His hands, allowing Him to aim every step of our lives. The safest place is not flying on our own but resting in the hands of the Master who never misses His mark.
Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11, Isaiah 40:31, Proverbs 3:5–6, Psalm 37:23, Ephesians 2:10, James 1:2–4, Hebrews 12:1–2

Father, thank You for holding my life securely in Your hands. Too often I have wanted to rush ahead of Your timing, chasing opportunities before You had finished preparing me. Forgive me for becoming impatient when the waiting seemed long or the silence seemed endless. Teach me to trust that every hidden season has a purpose and that You are using it to shape my faith, strengthen my character, and prepare me for what lies ahead.
Your Word says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5–6). You also promise that "those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength." (Isaiah 40:31). Thank You that Your plans are always greater than my own and that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in me. (Philippians 1:6).
Help me to remain steady when others seem to move ahead. Guard my heart from comparison, impatience, and discouragement. Let me spend this season growing deeper in Your Word, stronger in prayer, and more surrendered to Your will. May my foundation be built on Christ so that when You choose to launch me into the purpose You have prepared, I will stand firm and bring glory to Your name.
Lord, let my life never be driven by applause but by obedience. Aim my steps, guide my decisions, and use me wherever You desire. Whether You ask me to wait or to go, may I always trust Your perfect timing. Thank You for reminding me that I am safest, strongest, and most effective when I remain in Your hands.
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

The crowd watched the cannon, but Heaven watched the hands that prepared it. While everyone else measured the distance of the flight, God measured the depth of my faith. I wanted the applause that came after the launch, but He wanted a heart that trusted Him before the fire was ever lit.
There were days when waiting felt heavier than moving. I questioned the silence, the hidden places, and the slow work I could not see. Yet every prayer became another layer of strength, every trial another lesson in trust, and every delay another reminder that God's timing is never late.
Then I realized the greatest miracle was not how far I would fly, but whose hands were holding me. I no longer feared the waiting because I knew the Master Cannoneer never wastes a season. He prepares every shot with purpose, every direction with wisdom, and every landing with grace.
So I rest in His hands until He says, "Now." I do not launch myself, chase the spotlight, or race ahead of His will. When the moment comes, I will fly exactly where He intended, because the safest place before the boom is still in the hands of the One who never misses His mark.
